My background

My background is communications and marketing in politics and local government. Following my own personal crisis, I undertook a journey of transformation through psychotherapy. Changing vocation, I decided to devote my life to helping others discover themselves, so they can be the fully functioning person they know they can be.

I am currently studying towards an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy with the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education (CCPE), a two-year training which enables me to work at the level of senior psychotherapist from a spiritual perspective.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists

I am listed on the Black and Asian Therapists Network (BAATN).

About Psychotherapy

Talking through the feelings regarding whatever is troubling you can often help reach a better understanding of its possible cause. You may then be able to work towards making changes that will allow you to feel happier and more in charge of your life.

Psychotherapy tends to be a route to explore the particular life struggles you are facing and it’s open-ended. This means that you decide the length of therapy – which can be anything from three months to many years of weekly meetings, often in the same place at the same time.

Counselling can provide a space to talk through specific problems in a particular area of your life. Timings range from six sessions to around six months counselling.

Ways I Work

I can help you using a number of approaches, depending on what you bring to therapy. My modes of working include

  • psycho-dynamic
  • person-centred
  • existential
  • transpersonal
  • cognitive behavioural therapy
  • mindfulness for stress reduction

Most of all though, it is about gaining an understanding and empathy in whatever is troubling you, in order to work through the emotions that may cloud your ability to respond to life in a way that works for you. Sometimes it just helps to ‘say it out loud’.
